Turbulent Sumi Ink

These digitally manipulated sumi ink paintings, and painting collages, were created for Pedram Navab’s Heart Failed in the Back of a Taxi book of poems. They correspond to the poems’ turbulent, destitute, and “circular” nature. Surprising for Ioana’s work, they are black and white, as that was required for publication. Fortunately, this color aesthetic works very well with the nature of the poetry.
