Interior Garden
The interior design of this small office space entails “disappearing” furniture and storage solutions, and paint design which,
as an abstraction of nature - landscapes, mountains, cherry trees - creates a calm environment.
The scenery suggests that there is something beyond the walls, that you are not boxed in.
The concept started with the client requesting something “green”, as the office is located in a very industrial building in Downtown LA, in a neighborhood void of vegetation.
Warm grass greens, sky blues, reds, and pinks balance this north facing, cool lit space.

Large scale and minimalist geometry further reinforce a sense of calm. The play of shapes of color give depth to the flat walls.

Due to a tight budget, drapery - rather than custom cabinetry - hides the messy boxes of materials used in the non-profit’s hands-on activities.

After the renovation of the children’s studios below was completed, this project was about to start implementation.
However, building maintenance issues put the project on hold long enough for everyone to become comfortable working outside of a centralized office space.
