IOANA is an energetic company with a wide range of art, architecture & design projects centered around the philosophy that we need to experience meaningful, beautiful things on a daily basis.
COMPETITIONS: Entered two (open) design competitions to date: 1. Winner of the 2003 Art Interactive International Design Competition; 2. “Life in a Fluid” poster was a semi-finalist in the 2009 National Science Foundation (NSF) International Science & Engineering Visualization Challenge.
PRINCIPAL: Ioana Urma, is a LEED AP (green/sustainability) California registered architect and artist with degrees from M.I.T. & Cornell University and a broad range of design experience. She also teaches design & architecture at Otis College of Art & Design, and has previously taught at Art Center College of Design, Roger Williams University, Boston Architectural College; served as invited juror on reviews at C.P. Pomona, Woodbury, Art Center, Otis, MIT, Harvard, RISD, Wentworth, Roger Williams, BAC; and lectured at USC AME (visual learning), BAC (marketing), and Jerde & Otis (sustainability).
LOCATION: In the tiny (pop. 16,000+), beautiful City of El Segundo, California, just south of LAX.
