This 1/2 kilometer long new civic center (20,000 sqm retail, city hall, hotel w/conference center, office & 1,000 unit residential + diplomatic housing) is a contextual continuation of the city's series of public squares. Backed up against a regionally successful shopping mall, it links to the pedestrian historic city center via a 1/2 kilometer park art walk, an outdoor space where art students can showcase & sell their work amongst cafes and trees. (Parks & gardens are a theme of this city.) As this 1 km long pedestrian art, diplomatic & luxury lifestyle experience crosses the city's main train tracks, we have also added a mini-train station to the project, bringing more people into this new hub.

I worked on this project at The Jerde Partnership, in the concept design phase with Alex Lin, under the guide of David Rogers & Jon Jerde. I also supervised Naoleon Merana on the residential design.
