Exhibit in Bronx, NY, at the Iridescent-ONR NYC Science Studio, entitled “Process: The Art of Illustrating Science Concepts,” attended by The US Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus, ONR Admiral Nevin P. Carr, and NY Congressman Jose Serrano.
Each 18’ x 9’ panel depicts the process involved in illustrating various science and engineering, educational T-shirts and graphics created for non-profits: 1. The MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) process, 2.The relationship of the Reynolds number to animal locomotion, 3. Electricity, and 4. Wind energy.
This was an invitation for the public to understand the number of thoughtful decisions that go into creating a beautiful science concepts graphic. How does one conduct research and translate complex abstract concepts into effective images within a limited space (and with a limited number of colors)?
Also exhibited were large science & engineering decals and banners used to decorate the opening event, created for Iridescent.
