Volunteer educational science and sustainability mural for Hillcrest Elementary School in Baldwin Hills, CA, as part of LA Works, encompassing 3+ walls of a courtyard with a total length of 280 feet.

The courtyard entry focuses on the large sun. This NE wall with the sun depicts cloud types radiation, light, and wind energy. Next to it, the SE wall describes sustainability in Southern California - native plant species, geotextiles, photovoltaic and wind energy, natural ventilation, the walkable city - and communication systems. Finally, the SW wall shows underground systems - geothermal energy and water filtration - and goes out to the ocean to talk about wind and wave energy and fish locomotion. Lightning energy is appropriately located on the freestanding transformers.

Volunteers mainly from Northrop Grumman, through LA Works, filled in the mural with paint as per my wall drawing and color directives, while I mixed paint for them for 6 hours straight.

(This project project is in process of completion.)
