(natural) science

These natural science illustrations, created for the educational “Build a Bird” iPhone & Android apps, show seven bird species engaged in a variety of life-sustaining activities: breeding and nesting; searching for food and feeding; flying in various positions such as gliding, landing, taking-off, diving, soaring; and other general pastime activies such as roosting, fighting, and observing other birds.

The birds featured are: Hummingbird, House Sparrow, Wandering Albatross, Peregrine Falcon, Rock Pigeon, Barn Owl, and Turkey Vulture.

A lot of research was conducted so as to understand what is special about each bird, and decide which features/position/behavior to include, so that they are accurately represented - from a scientific / factual perspective - and differences between species is highlighted. This level of accuracy also extends to the bird’s environment.
